Pool Rules

Aquatic Facility Rules

  1. Children under age 12 must be directly supervised by a responsible person age 16 or older.
  2. Children under age 11 who have not passed the swim proficiency test must be supervised in the water within arms reach by a responsible person age 16 or older.
  3. Proper bathing suits are required; cutoffs, loose fitting t-shirts or revealing bathing suits are not permitted.
  4. Adults must be in proper bathing suit attire and are not allowed to supervise from the pool deck (directly supervised within arm’s reach).
  5. Up to 4 youth (ages 11 and younger) may be supervised by a responsible person age 16 or older.
  6. All patrons entering the pool area must pay regardless of intent to swim or not.
  7. Non-swimmers are not allowed in the deep end of the pool.

Water Slide Rules

  1. Patrons must either be age 12 or older or have passed the swim proficiency test in order to use the slide.
  2. Patrons must enter the water feet first.
  3. Patrons can only glide down the slide on their backsides and must wait until the splashdown area is clear before entry.
  4. The deep end may not be used for general swim while the slide is in use.

Swim Proficiency Test

Patrons age 6-11 are eligible to take the swim proficiency test which will allow them to swim unaccompanied in the water. The test consists of a 25-yard unassisted swim, using the stroke of their choice. Patron may not touch the bottom of the pool or stop. After passing the test, the lifeguards will fill out a Swim Proficiency card and issue a wristband.

Requirements

Patron must visibly wear wristband when in the pool in order to swim without direct supervision. The patron will need to bring the swim card each time they visit the pool. If the patron does not bring the swim card they will need to be retested.
